Next stop Milan and Champions League!

Life is wonderful. Just wonderful.

Beautiful day of skiing in the sun. Wine lunch; french buffé and cheese.

Now getting ready to jump on the bus to Milan to watch THE game of the year; Champions League Inter Milan vs. Manchester United. Am so stoked that we got these tickets.

Amazing.

And loving it.

Serre Chevalier -> Soleil et bon neige -> Demain Inter vs Manchester United!

Life is good. Very good.

4C. Cear blue skies. Shining sun. Good food. Good wine.  Good slopes. Good snow. Great people.

I can't complain.

Even the 34hr bus trip down to Serre Chevalier was good.

Tove (my lovely girlfriend that I'm traveling with) and I got to know really nice people and a lot of new names on the way down.

We also got given names. Nicknames that is.

I am now known as "the Jukebox" and Tove as "the girl who fell down the bunkbed without noticing". Pretty frightening when you wake up in the morning and people are asking if you're alright where as you reply;

- Well,  yes, I'm fine.--?! Why..? How are you?

Only afterwards finding out that you, whilst cruising down  the German autobahn in the middle of the night, fell out of the bus bunkbed without noticing a thing. Without remembering a thing. Waking up the next morning all bruised and with a big cut in your leg, saying;

- Well, that was quite a bumby ride..."

It's late according to UCPA standards and afterski hours, so I will summarize the past four days in photos.

The trip down starts well. Tove and I got know sweet Anna from Halmstad.

Cheers Anna!

Some more "cheers" .

Yet some more cheers. Here, there and everywhere..

Tove goes popcorn. At this point we are keeping everyone on the bus merry. Very merry.

Morning arrives and Tove has against all odds survived her bunkbed fall. Breakfast in pittoresque la Gruyere.

First afterski at the UCPA center with live band. Amazing atompshere and so much fun!!

Sweet Estelle from Paris.

Bisous et à demain (quand nous allons aller a Milano pour voir le jeu entre Inter Milan et Manchester United!)

Valentines Day & Winter Wedding in Oslo!

Yesterday, Valentines Day 14th Feb, I attended a stunning and absolutely glimmering winter wedding in Oslo. It was one of my best friends, Birgit, who got married and it was indeed a magnificent night.

As my camera got stolen during my last days in India, I have been snapping shots with my mobile phone. Not great, but it's better than nothing.

Yesterday was no exception. There I was mobile phone in hand, ready for the next shot of the bride and groom, shining equally beautifully as the snow's glimmering reflection in the sun.

This morning I planned to share some of the moments from yesterday. Sitting, slightly dozy with my first cup of coffee of the day, I selected shots I took with my mobile yesterday, planning to email them to myself, so I could save them on to my laptop. I selected a good 20-25 photos and was just about to send them when it happened. Instead of pressing send - I accidentally pressed delete.

Horror.

How is this possible?!!! How come Nokia doesn't provide the "are you sure you want to delete all these objects" service, as all other clever cameras normally do?

I was flabbergasted. Going from one moment of joy and excitement to absolute zero. Below zero.

Ok, so I know that I can get photos from other people, but we all know how that goes. You always say you will email them, but it never happens. Plus they are not my shots. My photos.

Not happy about this at all.

However, I did manage to save some photos that I took on my way to the church. This to me shows Norwegians in their key element; clear blue skies, sun is shining, crispy weather, -10C and snow.

It can only mean one thing: "gå på tur " --> cross-country skiing. Only in Norway will you find people walking around with skis in the middle of the city. Just as surfers with their surf boards in Sydney.

Love it.

Kicking off 2009

Seven

It's been a while since I last wrote. Have been very busy with work and other stuff...

Stuff such as spending the weekend in London as hard core bike chick!

When I wasn't roaming the streets of London, I very much enjoyed the company of friends that I met in India.

Speaking of friends - for all you Friends fans out there, I may add that my weekend was full of, as Monica would have expressed it; 3, 3 maybe a bit of 4, 5, 5, 4, 6, 6, 5, but mostly and most importantly 7, 7, 7, 7...

Four word summary

Summary of my day in four words:

1) meetings
2) meetings
3) more meetings
4) stress

Looking foward to a slightly calmer Tuesday.

Just about forgot to announce the best reader/"blogg commentator" of the day: Linda Johansson alias lindaloranga.

Linda, your comments made me very happy. Made my day.

Check out Linda's blogg - reporting live from Bangladesh: http://banglabravader.blogspot.com/

Kram på dig tjejen!

Loving my Sunday tradition

Yet a lovely, lovely Sunday.

2hrs of marathon training felt even better than last Sunday, this despite the fact that I'd changed to run with a faster group.

I felt like my legs were " full of run" or "fullt av spring i benen" as Astrid Lindgren would've said if she was alive. Really feel that I'm getting in to the training mode; fit, feeling good and ready to hit that marathon end of May!

After shower and lunch at home, I met up with Linda who joined me for a walk to Söder where, after a couple of spontaneous, absolutely not-planned boots & jeans shopping, we eventually ended at up at Café Rival with our laptops and a glass of red.

We are still here if anyone feels like joining us for some non-social, yet very productive writing session!

For some reason I always feel the need to excuse my shopping. Todays' excuse was; well... I did run 20km. So does that mean that I'll be allowed to treat myself to something new every coming Sunday this Spring?

Very much enjoying my Sunday tradition.

Marathon training - here we go again..

Tomorrow Sunday at 10.00 = new 20km round with Stockholm Team Marathon.

Was just checking out the route for the run tomorrow - and what didn't find on the website but pictures from last weeks' training!

My morning in pictures

(Hells) Kitchen

Hired cleaner in the kitchen (wishful thinking..)

You can do the math yourselves how last night was.

Worth every single plate!

Dentist time

Today I paid a visit to the dentist.

I thought having my teeth cleansed and scraped from a little plaque and tartar would be a fairly pleasant and quick fix. I mean, at least nothing compared to having to fix a hole or having your teeth drilled.

Boy was I deceived.

Scraping tartar hurts. Big time.

After having a sharp object pushed in to my gum one too many times, I kindly asked the nurse if should would mind taking things just a little bit softer.

-  Why, she asked. Does it hurt?

One would think that by judging by the fact that I at that point was spitting blood, would be a fairly clear indication that, well, I wasn't exactly enjoying the procedure.

The nurse also commented on what dentists always tell me; that I grind my teeth at night. She said that if I didn't get a bite plate soon, my teeth would slowly wear down. Maybe even disappear.

Imagine that.

Monkey business

Was up working until 3am this morning. Working on an idea that I just sent away.

The perfect pitch I think.

If things turn out well, we'll hopefully find a comment on this blogg later on.

Sounds like monkey business? Well it kind of is..

First class and flying high

Just came home after my first class at Poppius (school of journalism).

Haven't felt this motivated and inspired by sitting down in front of a computer (in class) for a very, veeery, long time.

Practical classes will be mixed with guest speakers (well known Swedish writers and debaters) as well as weekend projects. Am already scanning through potential candidates for the personal interview we are to do in mid March. It can be with anyone and about anything. The only criterion is that we don't personally know the person beforehand.

I'm thinking: Jan Scherman (head of TV4), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (world league football player whom I secretly have teenage-like crush on), Jan Guillou (famous "angry man" Swedish author and journalist), Carl Bildt (Swedish minister for foreign affairs) or perhaps Agnetha Fältskog (former ABBA member).

You're thinking: she's out of her mind. She'll never get close to interviewing any of above. Completely nuts. Crazy.

I'm thinking: you're right. I am crazy. Krazy k who says just wait and see..!

Iceland - on slippery ice.

Iceland's government has been out on slippery ice ever since the global economic crisis started.

Despite prime minister, Geir Haarde, efforts to keep the current coalition together, the economic snowball effect took over and the Icelandic skates just weren't sharp enough to keep the current government standing..

Wonderful Sunday come again

Have had the most lovely afternoon; meeting up and having "fikas" (Swedish expression for having a coffee and maybe a quick bite to eat) with friends from now and then/near and far.

I've been to three different cafés and am now on my third - although I've upgraded my third stop to a bar with a lovely sofa. Me myself, my lap top, my writing - topped off with a glass of red.

My first fika was with a good friend. Lovisa, that I met at Uni. When I got to the café she was busy studying for an exam. By the looks of her notes you'd think she was in to art or perhaps architecture.

Notes will deceive you.

Lovisa will become the most colorful and meticulous doctor I'll ever know.

The second place I went to served the most amazing kanel bullar (Swedish cinnamon buns). I'd never been to boulangerie Saturnus before - and it definately won't be the last. Great place, great people and great atmosphere.
And GREAT bullar! (i dubbel bemärkelse)

Wonderful Sunday come again.

The running rubberband

Just completed a 20km run with team Stockholm marathon and am feeling great! Feel like I could have done another twenty!

The trainer of the team had to keep telling me to slow down and not pull away from the rest of the group. Crazy how that goes considering I had quite a night last night..

He said quote: "du är ju som ett himla gummiband som man inte kan kontrollera"
i.e.  "you are like rubberband that can't be controlled".

Here you see me  - the running rubberband.
